Thanks for swinging by! I’m Katie.

First, a little about how this blog and my healthy eating journey began…

I did not grow up interested in healthy eating, farming, sustainability, yoga or spirituality. I did however grow up with a lot of complicated, uncomfortable and unpredictable digestive (and anxiety) issues. I was told I had problems like…IBS, food sensitivities, acid reflux (and on and on), but I kept getting sicker and sicker. My stomach couldn’t tolerate anxiety medication (which was clearly linked to my symptoms). I was stuck! Then two years ago, I hit a new low: I stopped getting hungry. I was so frustrated, upset and overwhelmed by my body’s confusing reactions to food that I realized I had absolutely no desire to eat. This was A HUGE WAKE UP CALL.

I began working with a talented naturopath, and the result has been nothing short of miraculous. Yes, I am healthier than I ever thought possible, but I’m also happier.

My credentials:

  • Certified 200-hr Yoga Teacher, a graduate of Cathy Mann’s program at The Yoga Studio in Millis, MA
  • Graduate of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in March of 2013
  • Graduate of the Boston School of Herbal Studies’ Art & Science of Essential Oils Course
  • My writing has appeared on Wanderlust.com, TinyBuddha.com and MindBodyGreen.com

  1. Hey Kate, bumped into your page over one of your articles about authentic self on tiny buddha (http://tinybuddha.com/author/kate-lamie/) … you pretty much hit on the spot what I’m going through… just wanted to say thank you. Its great to know there are others out there choosing the path of becoming ones own best, closest and most loved partner in crime… although its so damn hard and sometimes it seems as if ill never be able to even peek over the fence into the garden where my true self is blooming… but its about not giving up, trying to climb over or tare that fence down. 🙂
sending you lots love and wishing you strength from within.

      Hi Michelle,
Thank you so much for your comment. I’m glad you liked me article on authenticity (it is not always easy!) One thing i have learned along the way that is helpful…imagine that you have little buds coming up always and some buds going underground – at all times. It’s so tempting to wait for the days of “a true perfect bloom” but I’m sure you have some areas of your life that you’re rocking at right now. Enjoy it! The ride to really being your authentic self is definitely a challenging one but the rewards are AMAZING!!!! Love and strength right back to you.
