I’ve been pretty vocal about how much I love juicing here, but lately my love affair with juicing has reached a whole new level. Pourquoi? Because I absolutely NEED that extra boost of energy to keep my mood + focus + blood sugar in a good place. Working in a retail environment this time of year can feel draining and exhausting. My body and my mind are working in overdrive for long periods of time. Here’s what I’ve found: I am more productive, happier, and more grounded when I start my day off with a green juice.

Here’s my mom’s favorite juice recipe:

2 handfuls of kale

1 small banana

7-8 chunks of frozen mango

1 cup of water

1 tsp of maca powder (for vitality and awesomeness)

Optional: Scoop of almond butter or peanut butter
