I’ll start off with the most important. My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was eight. We had no history in my family, and she was, in all other respects, extremely health. Today, she’s a healthy, happy survivor.
I feel so blessed to have my mother around, and thankfully, her battle was relatively painless. Chemo and clear. Since the time I first saw my mother attach a pink ribbon to her shirt, I knew would be pink ribbon crazy. It’s a way to honor what my mom went through and acknowledge all the other moms, cousins, and family friends we know who’ve battled it.
This week, when I bought my new used car, I couldn’t resist the Massachusetts breast cancer license plate. And I love the way it’s a BC shout-out too. Go Eagles! Here’s what the Massachusetts plates look like.
Here are a few pics of the other shirts I’ve picked up along the way.
I’m heading out to the South Shore with Komen MA to gift wrap later this month. If anyone’s interested let me know.
For the music…
And just to keep the pink ribbon spirit going, one of my favorite Christmas songs from Sheryl Crow. “I’ll be home for Christmas.”
Plus, have you heard Mariah’s new single “Oh Santa.”
