Here.

Here is the place where I can hold my arms up

And begin to twirl.

Here is the place where I can let my hair down

And roll my hips, pout my lips, and dance along

Here is the place where all the insecurities begin to hit the floor

The burdens have no place here anymore

Here is the place where I gave into my breath

And moved from one pose to another

Here is the place where strength took over

Here is the place where I leave the little girl

Who couldn’t decide what felt right on her own

Here is the place where I do not live for ‘you’ anymore

And learn where my heart wants me to go on its own

Here is the place where I grab on to my spirit

Watch my ego begin to disappear

Here is where it hurts.

Where the old you lingers on

Where you fight and claw

And you get back up and press on.

And more days than not- you twirl.
