I love books that have an element of spirituality to them.  After reading Eat, Pray, Love last year, I knew I was hungry for more books that tackled the tough questions about the divine . The Shack is the story of one man’s weekend with God.  The premise- that one amongst us may spend 48 hours with God- is in itself thrilling.  The book does a tremendous job of describing a God who is “especially fond” of everyone on earth and is exudes an incredibly calming, caring manner. I loved it so much I gave it to a friend as soon as I finished it, otherwise I would have been brimming with quotes to add here.

At a time when the pace of multiple things in my life seemed to be accelerating faster and faster, this book helped slow everything down. I recommend it highly.
