This book has a pretty interesting perspective on the hookup culture.  It takes a stab at some tough questions: why now?, what role do parents play? what impact will the hookup culture have on our future?

Here are a couple quotes I kept:

“My sense is that as their daughters get older parents begin worrying that crushes become too significant.  There’s no contraception available for the heart.  So they signal their girls, either consciously or unconsciously to love moderately.”

“Here it was again, from a young man this time, the view that either you hooked up or you were married.”
